Useful tips

If you've visited chat rooms in the past, it's pretty similar. Choose a name and start chatting.

1 Intoduce yourself. Ask if anyone is into a similar topic. Lurking is ok. It's ok to just sit and see what other people are talking about.

2 Be Respectful. Not everyone has the same opinion and that's ok.

3 No Caps! Don't always talk in caps. People shoouldn't be shouting all the time.

4 Follow the Rules! Rules will be updated from time to time. There are site rules, room rules, and an admin may enforce rules at anytime. But always remember, You Rule!

Sorry, but no. This is not the-park.com that we all came to love and enjoy. It's not even a fork of the original. The-park.com closed as of April 17, 2001.

theparkchat.com was started as a project to practice developing with a new web application framework. Other than that, we're not sure what it is yet. Whatever it becomes, we'll find out together.

Registration

Registration isn't required but your questions regarding registration topics my be found here. 

There will never be any charge to register for any account. Registration is not even required.

By registering for a free account, you'll be able to keep your Nickname/Handle until you change it. Please be aware that there may be events that will require a name change. 

You will also be able to create and view support tickets, flag messages, create private rooms, etc.

Additional features will also be added. 

Plus, registering will help to show us that there's an interest in keeping this site alive. 

Chat Rooms

General answers to chatrooms and chat specific features can be found here. 

We will be launching more rooms as the need arises. Our system is already designed to support hundreds of rooms. We just felt that first we should get an audience before launching a full chat system full of empty rooms. We have a total of 100 rooms ready to go though!

Once additional rooms become available, you'll be able to find rooms sorted in various categories.
